Sunset
The sunset is a symbol of peace, another day was ended and new beggining will come. It is also an expression of hope and very relaxing view.
In photography we also took a picture to express our self and symbolized our personality. One of the very interesting landscape photography is the sunset. Taking photos like sunset required skill in setting the SLR camera. Using the right combination of exposure such as Aperture,ISO and shutter speed will result a good image. Some of the photographers use special gadget such as filter that will be useful specially to avoid distortion of UV rays from the sun.
I took this photo at Sharjah,UAE while the humidity of the place is present. I used my Canon EOS 1000D SLR camera with the lens 55-200 mm with out filter and no photo shop touch up.
ISO 100, Aperture 5.6, shutter speed 1/120, auto focus set up.

Sharjah Central Souk
The view of Sharjah Central Souk or Gold Souk from Buhairah Corniche. One thing I like from this photos was the simplicity. Simplicity is the key to the most good pictures. Always remember that simple subject can be attracted to the eye of viewer.
In photography simplicity is important which make the subject shows more interesting. Night photography for me is a simple expression of simplicity. However night photography is not an easy subject for beginners. The proper combination of light, the set up, aperture, shutterspeed will be helpful.
Exploring your SLR cameras will develop your skill. This picture was taken using my Canon EOS 1000D SLR camera. Always remember that photography is an art and required practice to develop skills. Any talent and skill that not been use and not develop will be useless.

Lines and Lighting
This shot was taken at Buhairah Corniche at Sharjah,UAE while exploring my SLR camera. Exploring and praticing photography develop your photographic composition skill.
Lighting and lines are some element and principle to consider to have a impressive shot.
Using your SLR camera, take a shot adjusting your shutterspeed and aperture to satisfy yourself with your subject. If possible play also with ISO for the exposure effect of your define subject.
Good or correct composition is impossible to define precisely. There are no hard and fast rules to follow that ensure good composition in every photograph. Lines and light will be helpful for your photograph to define and to emphasized your subject that capture the interest of people. Remeber that photography is the art of light, and light will be destructive if not use as a helpful thing for your photographs.
Start exploring and always practice your photographic skill.

My Devotion
Since we know the three basic thing to consider in photography (aperture,ISO and shutterspeed) start exploring your camera and look for your nice subject. This is one of my favorite subject in photography.
This is my shoot when my Canon EOS 1000D SLR camera was still new. Exploring my new SLR camera I want to have a subject that will express my faith and personality.
This shot is a simple expression of my devotion and faith. It takes several shots to get the image I really want. For some it is just an art, but for me it is my source of strength whenever I feel I am in the lowest point of my life. I have no macro lens so I find it difficult to get this image. However patience makes it happen. I really enjoy taking photos that reflect my personality using my Canon SLR camera.
Shutterspeed 1/80, Apperture 5.6.Practice makes perfect, dude

ISO
In earlier post we discuss Aperture and Shutterspeed, to take good photo combination of this plus ISO will improved and give you a nice image. What is ISO?
ISO is the sensitive of express the photographic negative materials. Traditionally used the set the film speed of the selected speed on film cameras, ISO speed are employed on the modern digital cameras as an indication of the system gain from light to numerical output and to control automatic exposure system.
ISO speed affects the shutter speed / aperture combinations you can use to obtain correct exposure.
Suppose your digital camera's light meter warns you there is not enough light to correctly expose a scene. You could use the on-board flash, but let's suppose again it's not allowed (like in a concert or indoors recital).
Usually the setting of SLR cameras for ISO is ISO100, ISO200,ISO400,ISO800 etc.(depend on the model of SLR)
Explore your SLR camera using the combination of ISO, aperture and shutterspeed will give you an impressive photo. Practice makes perfect.

Shutter Speed
One thing to consider when taking a good shot with your SLR camera is the Shutter speed. Shutter speed is the adjustment of the speed (often expressed in fraction of a seconds) of the shutter to control the amount of time during which imaging medium is exposed to light for each exposure.Shutterspeed may be used to control the amount of light striking the image plane; faster shutter speeds (that is,those of shorter duration) decrease both amount of light and the amount of image blurring from subject motion or camera motion.
The agreed standards for shutter speeds are:
1/1000 s
1/500 s
1/250 s
1/125 s
1/60 s
1/30 s
1/15 s
1/8 s
1/4 s
1/2 s
1 s

1/125 s
1/60 s
1/30 s
1/15 s
1/8 s

Try to take some practice using different setting of shutter speed to fully understand. practice make everything perfect.

Aperture
f 32 narrow aperture and slow shuttespeed
f5.6 wide aperture and fast shutter speed
diagram of decreasing aperture size (f number increasing)
As begginer to the digital photography some terminology will be used and consider to get quality image. Most of them is Aperture, Shuterspeed and ISO this three will be helpful to the photographer if fully understand. But now let us focused on aperture.
Aperture of the lens- adjustment of the iris, measured as f-number which control the amount of light entering the lens. Aperture also has an effect on focus and depth of fields, namely, the smaller the opening ( aperture), the less light but the greater depth of field- that is, the greater the range within the object appear to be the sharply focused.
Refer to the figure above to fully understand the importance of aperture. And pratice with your SLR camera

Types of Camera
The camera or camera obscura is the image forming device and photographic film or a electronic image sensor is the sensing medium. The respective recording medium can be the film itself, or a digital electronic or magnetic memory.
Photographers control the cameras and lens to exposure the light recording material (such as film) to the required amount of light to form a "latent image" (on film) or "raw file" (in digital cameras) which after appropriate processing, is converted to a usable image. Modern digital cameras replace film with an electronic image sensor based on light sensitive electronics such as "Charge couple devices" (CCD) or " complementary metal-oxide semiconductor" (CMOS) technology. The resulting digital image is store electronically, but can reproduce on paper or film.
